Delete Your Account & Data

How to permanently request deletion of your CarWhats Cargo account

Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please withdraw your wallet balance and complete any active shipments before proceeding.

1. In-app method (fastest)

The fastest way to delete your account is from within the app itself, with no need to contact us:

  • Open the CarWhats Cargo app and sign in.
  • Go to Profile → Settings.
  • Tap "Delete Account".
  • Read the warning, then confirm the deletion.

Your account will be deleted within 24 hours of confirmation, and you will lose access to the app immediately.

2. Request deletion by email (alternative)

If you can't access the app, you can request deletion by sending an email to:

support@carwhats.com

3. What will be deleted

When your deletion request is confirmed, we permanently delete the following:

  • Your profile (name, photo, phone number, email).
  • Verification documents (ID card and driving licence photos).
  • Your saved addresses and historical location data.
  • Your in-app messages and notifications.
  • Your ratings and reviews.
  • Shipment photos and proof-of-delivery images linked to you.
  • Your device FCM token used for notifications.

4. What may be retained temporarily

We may retain some data for a limited period for legal and financial reasons only, after which it is permanently deleted:

  • Financial transaction records — kept for up to 5 years to comply with tax and accounting laws.
  • Dispute and complaint records — kept for one year for legal review purposes.
  • Anonymized data — we may retain aggregated statistics from which you cannot be personally identified.

All other data is permanently deleted within 30 days of request confirmation.

5. Important conditions before deletion

  • You must not have any active shipments in progress.
  • You must withdraw any remaining balance in your wallet before submitting the request.
  • You must have settled any amounts owed to the platform.

Deletion requests that do not meet these conditions will be rejected until they are met.

6. Timeline

  • Immediately: account access is lost and notifications stop.
  • Within 24 hours: profile and contact data are deleted.
  • Within 30 days: permanent deletion of all sensitive personal data.
  • 5 years: financial records are deleted after the legal retention period expires.
